As a member of the 1000 series aluminum family, 1050 aluminum (also written as 1050A aluminum) offers excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, and good formability, making it one of the most widely used pure aluminum grades in industrial and decorative applications.


1050 Aluminum Alloy Composition

Because of this high purity, 1050 aluminum has fewer alloying elements than series like 3003 or 6061, giving it superior conductivity and corrosion resistance, but lower mechanical strength.


1050 Aluminum Mechanical Properties


The 1050 aluminum properties vary depending on temper. Common tempers include 1050 O aluminum (fully annealed, softest), 1050 H14 aluminum, 1050 H18 aluminum, and 1050 H24 aluminum (strain-hardened to different degrees). As temper increases from O to H18, tensile strength rises from around 65-95 MPa to over 135 MPa, while elongation decreases. This makes the 1050 series aluminum flexible enough to cover both deep-drawing applications (soft temper) and structural uses requiring more strength (hard temper).

1050 aluminum machinability is rated as fair to good. Due to its high purity and softness, it tends to be gummy when cut at high speed, so sharp tooling and proper lubrication are recommended. Aluminum products of Zhongxin meet the export standard. Plastic film and brown paper can be covered at customers’ need.
